The Xterra I purchased needed the black plastic to be refurbished, this stuff works great! Make sure to follow instructions carefully.

I was tired of buying 'designer' trim treatments, using part of the bottle and finding the contents no longer usable when it was time to coat something else. That's why I gave the Cerakote Ceramic Trim Coat Kit a try....I was intrigued by the sealed packets of individual wipes. I was also familiar with Cerakote as being a reputable brand.I recently purchased a 2016 Lexus CT200h and the cowl trim was not in good condition. It looked weathered. As with ANY coating, surface preparation is the absolute key to a successful application. This is especially true if you've applied multiple products hoping to find something that lasted longer than a month, or sometimes, the first rain storm.Anyway, after thoroughly washing the car, I again cleaned the cowl panel with CarPro Eraser, a surface preparation product. You can also use a diluted IPA solution. The Cerakote is super easy to use. It does have a strong chemical smell, so use it in a well ventilated area. Also, Cerakote supplies 4 gloves in the kit, use them. Just remove the application cloth from the package and wipe the trim piece you want to coat. I do wish the application cloth was a bit softer. It's on the stiff side and a softer cloth would be easier to navigate around curves and under wiper arms. That is my only nitpick. The coating quickly turned by weather trim back to a rich satin black. I thought it was a little glossy at first, so I did a light wipe down with a microfiber which knocked that down to a new part look.I've read here where a small minority have had some problems. I suspect that is most likely the result of improper surface preparation. Also, wiping down the coated trim with a microfiber cloth a couple of minutes after application should help even out any color uniformity issues. My tape line wasn't down securely in my photos, but the before and after is pretty dramatic.I can't speak to durability, but I'm completely satisfied with the individual packets, ease of application and results.
