Just have to wait for erakote to dry

Posted by David Stewart on Sep 20th 2019

Used cerakote on the door panels of my 1986 Dodge Ram. They extremely oxidized and didn't think nothing would get them looking good. But I tried Cerakote and they turned out better than my expiation 's . Saved me from buying new panles.

    Absolutely worth it!

Decided to give this a try after watching Wilson Auto Detailing, this product absolutely works, my wife’s car is a 2017 Explorer Sport which has a ton of Plastic trim. It’s not garage and the trim was already started to fade. I started getting tired of applying CG VRP after every wash. This product is extremely easy to apply and I only used 3 pads for the entire car. - make sure you prep the plastic before applying it, I wiped it down with rubbing alcohol before hand. It’s been about 2 months and about 4 ( at home) washes and the product is still holding strong.

    Cerakote has a winner!

Cerakote Trim Coat is advertised as a ceramic trim coating that restores “weathered unpainted plastic trim to like new luster and shine.” Trim Coat does this by bonding to the plastic instead of sitting on the surface like a temporary dressing. The application instructions are: * Wash and thoroughly dry the trim * After trim is completely dry, simply open the package and apply using the included gloves * Be sure to apply out of direct sunlight and when the trim is cool to the touch I chose to wipe the trim down several times with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA/Rubbing Alcohol). IPA will clean the trim well and won’t coat the trim and paint with a film like Dawn dish soap will. Plus, it dries quickly so there’s no extended waiting or worry about water drips. Inside each packet is a pre-moistened wipe which appeared to be about 4”x4” when unfolded. The application was simple. Wipe the trim with the wipe and work back and forth in overlapping passes. I tried Trim Coat on a Scion TC and was able to coat almost every inch of black plastic on the car with just one wipe! The trim started out well-faded having sat out in the California sun with little to no protection most of its life. After one application of Trim Coat, it looks new! Trim Coat Restorer the color and provided a nice, glossy finish. I was skeptical of this product for quite some time, but I am glad I tried it out. No bottles of ceramic to go bad and no need to stock application cloths. Open the packet, apply and toss. Done. Well done Cerakote!

I thought easiest to mask off paint around handles

Posted by Linda M. Pitts on Sep 15th 2019

2011 Ford F-150, has set outside all it's life. Door handles faded bad, other products never got them as 'black' as this. We'll see how long it lasts. The other treatments never lasted too long.

    great for all black trim

I love the ease of use of this product and the saturation of the cloth. It surprisingly covers a lot of surface area. It seems to instantly transform dull graying plastic/rubber trim. The only thing I wish they had was a smaller maybe pencil like spongy applicator to help get into the tight fine places which the square floppy cloth does not do(Keep it folder smaller for the tight areas). I am use to detailing my own car and I am doing this to get my car ready for sale. It really looks so much better. Definitely worth the money.
