Only use on dry or textured plastic.

Made the plastic trim on a 95 grand Cherokee look new again. Just tape off the paint and shiny smooth plastic. You only want to use on dry or textured plastic. Shiny smooth plastic will streak horribly.

Cerakote's Trim product is a no brainer. The application was too easy, not sure what other's have fussed about. I applied the coating to: step rail covers, wheel arch moldings, rear bumper cladding, the tailgate cover, and the tailgate latch release handle. Prep work is easy. I removed my wheel arch moldings because I can.....all other parts were treated on vehicle. 1) Do what the instructions say: WASH and DEGREASE!! DRY YOUR PARTS!! Too easy, and also use compressed air if you have it to blow dry the parts to speed up the process. 2) Use the included gloves (only 2 pair) and apply the product. The applicator "pads" are just like toilettes, they are saturated with the ceramic product. You apply the saturation to the plastic that you want to restore. I wiped up, down, sideways, and even a circular motion to ensure I covered all crevices and corners. I squeezed and squished the toilettes into the plastic and used until the product no longer "wetted" the application surface. It went on that easy. I was doing this towards dusk and into the evening, and wasn't using the best lighting. The included pictures: 1-cleaned and degreased, but untreated step rail /2-cerakote applied steprail 3/4-cerakote applied bumper and step 5-cerakote applied tailgate cover (notice the uneven coverage due to my application in dark conditions, otherwise would've looked uniform in coverage. 6/7-cerakote applied license plate area of bumper. (again, notice the difference in the thoroughness of my application due to lighting or lack thereof. The left side was covered adequately vs. the right side. Also some detailed areas were skipped and you can see the difference in a "before and after" sense. Didn't have the moldings to provide pics, but here are enough to show how good it works when applied correctly and consistently. All told, I can go back and reapply as I still have about 4 application pads leftover to complete the passenger side step rail parts, the long sides of the bed covers and to touch up the areas I slacked on.

    AVOID

The gloves are nice. That's about all I can say about it. The product leaves a terrible residue on painted surfaces that is well near impossible to get up. I have tried everything from acetone to 3500 paper to adhesive remover. Just avoid and stick to the meguiar's small black sponges. Sorry guys.

A great product to bring back your trim for the price

I saw some videos of users using this product to bring back their trim after being faded so I decided to try this one out on my car. I followed the instructions which was to not apply on a hot surface, wash the area that will get the coating with dawn soap and I also used alcohol to remove anything that was left. After doing that I use my car air blower to dry all the trim area and then started my application. It was pretty easy and the wipe stayed moist for a while, I could see some smear mark and I tried to balance it off with a microfiber towel but it didn't really help. So I waited 30 minutes for it to dry then applied a second coat. The second coat helped a little but I could still see some smear marks but it does bring back your trim.

    Great Product. I recommend!!

We tried numerous products, but this is the only one that covered the plastic trim on our truck and brought it back to it's original black. Very simple to use, just apply the individual pads.

    I dont understand

    Posted by Aaron2616 on Aug 28th 2020

Cleaned with alcohol, dawn dish soap, wiped with chemical guys wipe out for prep, waiting till night and applied in my garage and left over night, next morning, this is the product. I ordered a second pack to apply as a second coat. Its funny because I tried the second coat and it would not restore the trim as the ceramic coat of the first pack was on but the trim itself was spotty and no where near restored. Cant even apply a second coat or trim restore to get my black back. Extremely disappointed and upset as now Ill have to live with this for either 200+ washes or 2 years. Ridiculous product. It was easy to apply Ill give it that and Im sure it will last a long time (the ceramic coating) but not the trim restorer. Buyer beware, maybe I got a bad batch
