    Ceramic paint coating

Posted by Toma Milanovic on Sep 18th 2024

First version was absolutely horrible, I had to redo two customer cars. I didn’t give up on the company I waited for version two and have ordered at least 6 additional kits. So far nothing but good reviews from customers. There is nothing better on the market today at this price point. You can spend twice as much and not get the ease of use, endurance, slickness, shine… I even used it on my personal car. No matter where I go I get the looks, double takes, questions and thumbs up from admirers. What’s even more shocking is that my car goes weeks and months between car washes.

I followed the directions and the results were great just take time to do one small panel at a time and make sure that you buff all of the coating before moving on to the next panel.

Applied the product in accordance with the instructions approximately one-week ago. Just washed the vehicle and the hydrophobic properties are exceptional. Very satisfied so far.

great value, was able to do 3 cars with the kit. The applicator that comes with the kit "the twinkie", is easy to use but seems to waste product. Changed to suede cloth applicator for the last two cars. Initially waited 5 minutes after application but then it was difficult to remove, leaving streaks and high spots, used additional products and or ceramic spray to flatten. waited a minute or less for the following applications and then was easier to remove but still seems to leave high spots but difficult to judge. The shine and slickness is top notch. I'll keep on the watch for durability on the three cars.

So far so good. The main complaint I have is the directions say to wait 5 minutes before leveling the product. This would only be true in certain situations and is not true any other time. The amount of time you need to wait to level changes depending on the temp and I assume the humidity. I was down to 3 minutes as the temp approached 80F in my garage, humidity was around 55%. Seems odd that they (Cerakote) wouldnt mention this. It seems like a huge oversight. If you wait 5 minutes when the ambient temps are high, you will have a mess on your hands and will be polishing that area to correct it. This would most likely only be an issue for a first timer.
